Moto launched the G5S and G5S Plus, the special editions of the G5 series at an event in the capital today. Both Lenovo and Moto have been aggressively launching smartphones monthly in India in a bid to capture more of the market share.
Compared to its predecessor, the G5S Plus has a larger screen, more heft and a dual camera setup on the rear while the hardware is the same. The G5S has received upgrades on all fronts with a better processor, camera and display size. The company claims that both devices have been built using a single block of metal with the signature Moto dimple making a return in the G5S Plus.
The highlight of G5S Plus is the dual rear camera setup with f/2.0 aperture, colour balancing dual LED flash and a depth editor. Users can change the subject focus after taking a click and even transpose the subject onto another background. Another interesting effect is opting for a monochrome background to contrast with the coloured subject. The front camera is equipped with a wide angle lens for group selfies, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.
The G5S is priced at Rs.13,999 and the G5S Plus costs Rs.15,999. While the G5S Plus will be sold exclusively online via Amazon India from 11.59pm tonight, the G5S will also be available offline.
