Huawei today announced the release date for Honor 8 Pro, the successor to last year’s Honor 8 for the Indian market. No mention has been made of the smaller Honor 9 which was revealed alongside the device internationally.
The device uses the same flagship processor found in Mate 9 and P10 from the company. The 8 Pro features a dual camera setup at the rear with one primary RGB sensor and the other a monochrome sensor. Both have an aperture of f/2.2, PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus), laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. The front snapper has a f/2.0 aperture and can capture FHD video.
The single-core performance has been improved by 10% and multi-core by 18% in comparison to the previous model. Surprisingly, the GPU performance has received a massive 180% boost. The 16nm fabrication of the processor combined with Smart Power 5.0 technology help maximise battery life by automatically identifying and terminating processes with exceptionally high power consumption. The battery backup is said to provide almost 1.44 days of heavy use and 2 days of regular usage.
The company also showed the new Honor Band 3 with intelligent tracking features like heart rate monitoring, fitness and sleep tracking. It is also the first to feature 50m water resistance and 30 days battery life on a single charge. It will come in 3 colours and will be available later this month.
Priced at Rs.29,999, the Honor 8 Pro will be sold exclusively on Amazon India from 10 July. It will be bundled with a 9V/2A fast charger, standard USB-C cable and in a box that can be used as a VR headset.
