The latest Galaxy A5 and A7 editions were introduced today at the Samsung Forum 2016. Both the phones have a glass-and-metal design available in three colours – Gold, Black and White.
The Samsung A7 features a 5.5-inch 1080x1920p full-HD display with a 1.6GHZ octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB in-built storage, which is expandable up to 128GB, a fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, USB 2.0 connectivity with a 13MP LED flash camera at the back and a 5MP front camera. It is powered by a fast-charging 3300mAh battery weighing 17gm with a thickness of 7.3mm.
The Samsung A5 features almost the same specs, with the only differences being a smaller 5.2-inch 720x1280p HD display, 2GB RAM, 2900mAh battery and a weight of 15gm. The devices run on Android 5.1, aka Lollipop, using the Touchwiz UI overlay.
The price of the A5 is Rs 29,400 while the A7 will be higher, at Rs 33,400. Airtel will be providing 30GB data free for six months to new-connection owners.
Available from February 15, the models will sell online exclusively on Snapdeal. Offline, they will be sold at Samsung retail stores.
