Nike After Dark Tour Mumbai

Nike hosted its Nike After Dark Tour Mumbai 10K on Saturday, May 10, 2025, a race that was the largest ever women’s 10k in India. With over 3400 participants, the bold night race started at the iconic Gateway of India and coursed through the heart of Mumbai, illuminating the city’s historic skyline all the way to the NSCI Dome, Worli.

“The After Dark Tour in Mumbai was more than just a 10K, it was a movement. At Nike, we believe sport has the power to create change, and this run was proof of that. From the first training session to the final stride at the NSCI Dome, we witnessed stories of resilience, community, and transformation,” said Tarundeep Singh, General Manager, Nike India, thanking all local partners and authorities that made the women’s 10K through the heart of Mumbai possible. “Seeing the streets of Mumbai come alive with thousands of women reclaiming the night, on their terms, was so powerful. We’re proud to have created a space where women felt seen, supported, and could experience the joy of sport.”

The Nike After Dark Tour is a global race series celebrating women’s running, community, and self-expression. It is designed as a festival where the upbeat atmosphere, a sense of achievement from reaching personal goals, and diverse running styles, seamlessly come together, empowering the community of women runners. This milestone event reflects Nike’s ongoing mission to create inclusive spaces where women can connect, compete, and celebrate their journeys on their own terms.

Beyond the run, the Nike After Dark Tour Mumbai weekend also immersed participants in a festival of connection, creativity, and community. From a high-energy Shakeout Run to an interactive Race Expo at Wings Arena, Nike designed every moment to inspire and connect female runners. The evening ended with an energetic performance by singer Jonita Gandhi at the NSCI Dome.

In the weeks leading up to race day, Nike also introduced participants to a 10-week hybrid training program, catering to runners of all levels – from first-timers to seasoned athletes. Participants trained both online and in-person, guided by Nike Running Head Coaches Mishti Khatri and Akshata Pai, and backed by a supportive community of like-minded women. Through the Nike Run Club (NRC) app, runners received personalized coaching, motivation, and performance insights tailored to their individual goals.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Nike also leveraged WhatsApp to launch the After Dark Tour Run Assistant. Powered by chatbot technology, the tool delivered expert tips, motivational content, and training reminders helping runners stay engaged and get race-ready.

The Nike After Dark Tour Mumbai 10K marks a bold new chapter in Nike’s commitment to expanding access to sport for women in India. With a legacy rooted in innovation and empowerment, Nike brought back its celebrated women’s race series reimagined for a new generation of runners ready to shape the future of sport, one stride at a time.
