Adidas Unites with Allbirds to Create Low Carbon Running Shoes

April 14, 2022 by Sweta Baruah

Adidas and Allbirds have expanded their collaboration with the launch of the Adizero X AllBirds 2.94 KG CO2E. This new iteration is, reportedly, the lowest carbon performance shoe adidas has ever created. The new collaboration seeks to highlight that each pair with a carbon footprint of 2.9 KG CO2E, is created with 63% less emissions.

According to the company, the midsole is made with 17% plant-based content, developed in part with natural materials and the outsole is made with 10% recycled rubber. Furthermore, they have removed the torsion bar to provide a higher flexibility while on the run. The upper is made with 77% recycled polyester and 23% natural lyocell, a fibre made from sustainably grown wood, designed to create a lightweight upper while the lining, laces and embroidery feature 100% recycled polyester.

The new range comes in four new colours including Core Black/ Bliss, Cloud White/Carbon, Core Black/ Acid Red and Allbirds’ exclusive colours. It is available for purchase across select stores across India and at Adidas official website at a price of INR 11,999.
